Annual Pledge 2024

Due by December 2023

Dear Friends,

The holidays are around the corner, and as we near Thanksgiving, we begin our stewardship season. A time to reflect on how God is inviting us to share our time, talents and resources to support his church mission. Our mission proclaims that we are: disciples of Jesus Christ and good stewards of God's Grace, we are a caring, inclusive congregation that strives to grow in Christian Faith, proclaim the Good News and provide service in ministry to each other, our diverse community and the world. Thanks to you and your gifts, we are living out our mission to serve our community and the world with all its strife.

Paul tells us to "Rejoice in the Lord always"; because no matter our circumstances Jesus Christ is with us.  Paul goes on to tell us, Let your gentleness be evident to al. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This means to be gentle, reasonable, fair-minded and charitable to those outside the church and not just to fellow believers, and not seek revenge. He is saying to us, we all have worries, in today's world we stress over issues at home, work, school, and with the on-going wars. We are reminded to turn our worries into prayers. Paul is advising us that whenever you are worried, stop and pray more, for Gods' peace will guard your heart and minds in Jesus.

It is time for each of us to reconsider that support for Central and communicate that through our pledges. Financial pledges are a statement of intent of how each of us will support the work of the church. Pledges of time, talent and financial support assist Central leaders in planning for the work of the church - glorifying God through worship, nurture and service to all people. As we make a pledge, we demonstrate our commitment to care for what we love. We are grateful for your participation at Central Church and honored you would bless us with your generosity.

We hope you will consider making a pledge. Gifts are always appreciated - even without a pledge. But, pledges are important for us to meet our budget, and fulfil Gods' call to carry out the various ministries of our church. We invite you to complete the enclosed Estimate of Giving Form and return to by mail in the enclosed envelope (or go on-line at www.CentralPresbyterian.net and complete an Estimate of Giving Form). We appreciate your prayerful consideration of participating in our stewardship campaign.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to call the office at 973-744-5340.

Let us be excited about the possibilities and motivated to give to make them come true.

In Christ,

The Stewardship and Finance Committee
